As modekeys are already implemented with the drawing tool such function would be useful on the select&move-tool. There are many ways out there with rough curves and small detail. Such function would allow to browse the map, quickly adding a node and drag him to the right location without changing the tool.

I'd consider this far more useful than the function to rotate objects.
