The idea is to display for a way if it is closed or not. This would be done on selection (history-tab), on middle-mouse-info, and possibly wherever a way-icon is displayed (bascially distinct icons for open and closed ways). The icon could be the same as in the relation editor. If you don't find this icon suitable I will make you a new one for this purpose.
