Mapping progress has been tracked with [http://projekte.eiops.de/osm-matrix/ this tool]. Tile ""adresses"" in the form zoomlevel/y/x are important to work on data in exactly one tile. JOSM allows to download data based on tile addresses using the download dialog '''Tile numbers''', but it is quite complicated to use. And it has a couple of usablity issues. Would be nice to have an input field in which an ""tile address"" zoomlevel/y/x can be pasted.
