If I create a very simple circular closed, trying to split it at any point gives the error: ""The way cannot be split at the selected nodes.  (Hint: Select nodes in the middle of the way.)""  I get this message regardless of which node is selected.  I'm not sure when this happened, but if I had to guess I'd say it was the 0.5 api changeover.

In addition, since this needs to be fixed anyway, perhaps we could have the split way button enabled by default when a closed way is selected?  It could just split at the beginning/end node.
