I think that instead the history dialog should always mirror the selection, if it hasn't loaded the history for the currently selected object(s) it should display them as grayed out. Double-clicking on grayed-out objects would load their history & then show it.

Perhaps it would be logical to eliminate the history dialog as such and merge it with the selection dialog? Users could click some icon to display the history of a given selected object."	enhancement	closed	minor		Core	latest	fixed
