I just downloaded the 'latest' JOSM and got a quite nasty bug.
On startup (after downloading some data) there is a layer called ""Karte"" (Map). As long as I don't delete this layer, all menus just display an empty pulldown when clicked on.

I don't know if this layer is generated by the josm core or by some plugin, as I skipped quite some versions on both.
