As far as I know, the only location where the ID of an object is mentioned, is in the ""Current Selection"" window. The ID is extended with comma's to improve readabily. There is no way to copy this ID.

Being able to copy the ID would be usefull when communicating with others: one could easily copy and paste the ID of the obect that is to be discussed. Sometime I use the ID to create a full OSM URL, pointing to the right object (using !http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/[ID]).

Not sure how this should be implemented, but being able to do ""double click"" to select the full ID and ""cmd-c"" to copy it to my buffer, would be extremely nice and usefull. "	enhancement	closed	trivial		Core	tested	fixed
