Description
JUnit 6 was released on 27 June 2025, and now requires Java 17 as a minimum. Following the Java update (#17858), it should be a straightforward drop-in replacement.
There is still some dependency on JUnit 4 in the build (junit-vintage-engine and junit-jupiter-migrationsupport), I will clean this up in a separate ticket.
