That's correct for the left mouse button, but probably not useful when clicking with the right mouse button because right mouse clicks aren't used for editing the way. Maybe the Improve Way Accuracy mode sometimes misses the right mouse up event? That wouldn't be a problem if right clicks didn't change the cursor mode.
