On my android device I use offline OSM maps in format map which I download from ""http://www.openandromaps.org/downloads/"" and then use it in app Oruxmaps. Maps in this format are also available on other sites, and are used in other android apps. These maps can also be used on desktop windows/linux in java program Cruiser http://www.talent.gr/public/cruiser/.

Question:
Could this map format be used as background in Josm? I don't have internet connection on desktop PC and I would like to edit tracks on maps that I actually use and not on online maps that I don't use. Cruiser doesn't have functionality to edit tracks, so for that I have to use Garmin BaseCamp with OSM Garmin maps from http://garmin.opentopomap.org/, all this results in that I have to deal with Garmin stuff and I would like to avoid that, and also Garmin software doesn't work in linux."	enhancement	new	normal		Plugin
