149	greyed-out / semi-transparent outside downloaded area	rjmunro@…	framm	"When editing an area of the map, I sometimes follow my GPS track or a map I've downloaded from NPE outside the area I have downloaded. It's very difficult to tell what the area actually downloaded is because ways are now automatically completed and stretch outside. Ideally, I'd like the data layer to have a grey background outside the downloaded area (maybe semi-transparent), and only let other layers show through in the area (or areas) that have been downloaded.

This may require extending the osm data format so that the downloaded areas can be restored after a file is loaded and saved, but if it only works when you download, and not when you load a data file, that would probably be good enough for most occasions."	enhancement	closed	minor		Core		fixed
