Probably it makes sense to enable this feature for shop=* and amenity=* tagged objects, not sure about others.

PS. List of tags should be modified via AS. IMO this setting should be ctrl+v specific (prefixed):

* ctrlv.tags.to.discard - ""contact:*, note:, fixme:""
