Usually you want to divide buildings, so a default of ""2"" would be much more sensible. I would suggest that the plugin reuses the last number, too. 

Defect: If a building tag is already present, it does not get changed when you use the dropdown in the terracer plugin. Example: I want to divide a long building=terrace into separate building=houses.The correct behaviour would be to show the current value (building=terrace) selected in the dropdown, and if I change that, it should change the tag on the new buildings. Also, it should be possible to select an empty value, so that the building tag will not be added (then you could divide other things as well).
